Biography
Born on December 9 in the year of 1981, Mardy Simpson Fish is an American professional tennis player who also happened to be an Olympic Silver medalist. With his specialization in hard courts, he rose to prominence in the year of 2000. In total he has won 5 tournaments on the main ATP tour and has reached the final of 3 Masters Series: namely Cincinnati in 2003 and 2010 and Indian Wells in 2008. 2007 Australian Open, 2008 US Open and 2011 Wimbledon have witnessed his terrible performance and best results at the Grand Slam Tournament by reaching the quarter final stage. He acquired the ranking of America’s No. 1 in ATP Ranking in April 2011 after overtaking his compatriot Andy Roddick and currently holds the position of No. 8 in world.
Born in a Jewish family in Edina, Minnesota, Mardy’s father Tom was a tennis teaching professional and his mother Sally was a housewife. At the age of two he astounded everyone by hitting tennis balls from the baseline over the net and this compelled a TV Station in Minneapolis to run a profile on him at 1984. Fish’s family moved to Vero Beach, Florida in 1986 where he attended Saddlebrook Academy till tenth grade after which they moved to Boca Raton, Florida where he completed his junior and senior years of high school. In Boca Prep International school he befriended Andy Roddick and Jesse Levine.
